I am happy to share my recent experience working with Canine Behavioral Specialist Andy Stein.

I have owned many dogs throughout my life, but the most recent member of our family, our German Shepherd Roy, has brought many challenges and had me truly questioning if I had the ability to accomplish all he and I would need to overcome some difficult behavior.

Andy has many attributes as a trainer. Among them are patience, understanding and an amazing gift of genuinely listening to concerns and offering suggestions and alternatives that are mutually agreed upon. He brings much knowledge and a true understanding of dog behavior that has helped accomplish short term goals that have proven positive results with Roy. He has given me insight to future training needs and tools to accomplish them.

Most important to me is that Andy has given me the hope and peace of mind that has helped me to believe in my ability to work with Roy. With that hope, excellent instruction and guidance that was given to me by Andy, I have no doubt with my continued hard work and dedication that Roy and I will have many wonderful years to share.

I highly recommend Andy without hesitation to share his expertise and true compassion in what he does, as I know by experience what a difference he can make in helping form that bond that we all desire and need with our canine family.

Sincerely,

Roy’s Mom

Andy did such a great job training Danali (and us) - I sooo highly recommend him to train your dog!

It's hard to believe that my 180 pound Great Dane Peanut doesn't pull me anymore! He's always been so loving since I first brought him home, but his size has often hurt both myself and my two kids who are 8 and 5 years old. Andy showed me different ways to manage his size and taught Peanut how to be gentle. My kids can now run around in my back yard with him and he's truly as gentle as can be; to think that when I first met with Andy, I wanted to give Peanut away to another family.... I can't even believe I ever thought such a thing.

Thank you so much Andy!!! We love CBS!!!

I had never owned a dog of my own and really didn't think it was going to be that hard. You feed them, you walk them, you pet them, Yeah that was my outlook on owning a dog. When I first got my Akita Max, I thought he was gonna be a medium sized bundle of furry love. WOW!!! I got a shock, he chewed EVERYTHING!!!! and what was really bad, is that Akita's don't stay very small at all. Max grew what seemed like 10 pounds a day.  The small little dog that I fell in love with was destroying my apartment. I brought him to Petsmart training school and there was 5 or 6 other dogs in my class and I couldn't ask my trainer any questions. It went to quick and i didn't learn anything but how to get Max to sit. I was visiting a friend and she told me about CBS and how it's one on one training and that I could ask the trainer to help with my specific issues. I was very hesitant to call but I did and I spoke to Andy. I told him I had a 5 month old Akita and needed some help. It seemed like Andy already knew Max and everything that I had been dealing with and this was the first time I had ever spoke to him. He made me feel like there was indeed home and I didn't need to worry. I started class with Andy the next day. After only 6 classes, Max is the amazing dog that I always wanted. Andy explained to me how Max thinks and why he does the things he does. I understand so much more about Max and dogs in general. I might have rushed into being a dog owner, but now that I've gone through training with Andy. I have complete control over Max. We're starting our next phase of training in a few days and I can't wait.

Andy's training is simply amazing. I should have done training so much sooner with my two Poodles. He cuts right to the point of the problem and gets to the reason behind why your dog(s) are doing what they're doing. I went for all 6 of my classes, but knew after my second class that I wanted to stick with CBS and its training; One of my Poodles just past her test to be a Service Animal. I didn't think I could ever say that.

Thanks CBS

If you know anything about Great Pyrenees, you'll know how stubborn they are. I've had nothing but Pyre's since I was a kid. I love them regardless if they have listened or not. I told Andy and his wife to their faces that there is no way you can get my dogs to listen. They both said, "Give us a chance. We guarantee that if you do exactly what we tell you to do, you'll see a huge difference." I guess you can say I took the basic (6) classes just to be able to tell them both, "I told you so!" To this day, I can't tell either one of them that I told them so because my dog will stop what he's doing and come when I call him on the first time. It's been a fantastic experience with Andy & Ashley at CBS.

You both are great and have taught me so much.

Being new to the Tampa Bay area and not knowing too many people my husband and I were forced to put our Boxer, Zeus in a doggy daycare. He only lasted about thirty minutes before we had to pick him up. According to the daycare workers, he was far too aggressive. I then came across a flyer for Canine Behavioral Specialists. I told my husband that we at least needed to get a second opinion to see if our dog was truly aggressive. I called and we made an appointment for the fallowing week. Within ten minutes, Andy not only was playing with Zeus, but his two German Shepherds were playing with him as well. Andy said, "Yeah he's super aggressive, he might just lick me to death!" It was very reassuring to hear that our dog wasn't a bully. Andy explained how Boxer's got their name, which I never knew. We signed up for basic obedience and unfortunately had to call Andy and tell him that we would not be able to come back for some time due to my husband tearing his ACL and needing surgery. Andy went from our dog trainer to our friend in a matter of seconds. He immediately asked if there was anything he could do. I asked if he knew of a good place we could send Zeus for a few days; because we would be traveling to a different part of the state for my husbands surgery. He said, "I know of a great place.... My place!" I told him how wonderful it was of him to offer, but we couldn't inconvenience his home like that; especially with two other dogs. He assured me that there was nothing that would give him more pleasure than too help us in our time of need. And he did just that! He not only watched our dog for four days, but he sent us photos of him playing and training with his dogs. It was so incredible to not have to worry about our dog, to know and see that he was in excellent hands. When we came home, I told Andy that I would be on my way to come pick him up as soon as I could. I guess it's just Andy being Andy, because he said, "Nope! Stay and be with your husband, he needs you. I'll bring him home to you." So at 10:30pm Andy and Ashley come to bring us our Zeus. They are both not only great trainers, but amazingly generous.

There is none other like Andy & Ashley at CBS

I brought my Dog Amber to CBS for one very spesfic reason.... Her barking at other dogs. I have spent my whole life around dogs and been able to train them all for whatever I wanted or expected them to be able to do. Once my husband and I adopted Amber, things changed in relation to our trainig. Niether my husband or my self thought it would be such a huge problem; but it was. After several different trainers and many days pondering if I could ever get Amber to listen, I asked someone at my local Petsupermarket if they knew of any local dog trainers. Canine Behavaioral Specialists card was given to me, so naturally I called since. Andy calmed my nerves almost intantly after I told him why I was calling him. We started classes the very next week and have been going ever since. Andy has been so much more than just a dog trainer, he's given me so much hope in Amber's ability. She is now only weeks away from being a certified Therapy Dog.

Thank you Andy! We'd be lost with out you!

Ihave three (3) Dogs and they all were giving me one problem or another. My biggest problem was with my nine (9) year old mix Rottie, Peanut. He was okay with my other dogs but would become very aggressive around other dogs and I couldn't walk him at all without him barking at other dogs and pulling me. Andy not only told me how to fix the probolem, he explained why Peanut was doing this and taught me how too fix this if it ever happened again. After only 3-4 classes I saw a huge difference in all of my dogs, but an especially big change in Peanut. I can hardly believe I can take all three of them to the dog park now with no worries.

Your truly Awesome Andy!!!
